Threshers Stanton Smacks 5 Hits Saturday, June 27th, 2020 Richard Stanton exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Carpenter Complex. The Clearwater second baseman had a field day against the Lakeland Flying Tigers, finishing with a 5-for-6 day, even as his club took the loss, 12-11. "It's a shame that we lost the game," he said later. "It's really hard to enjoy what I did today. You would think 5 hits would do it." Richard Stanton hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, singled in the 10th and doubled in the 12th. For the season, Stanton is hitting at a .257 clip with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and has scored 34 runs. He has 56 hits, 18 walks and a .321 on-base percentage. View Boxscore |
