Tortugas Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Friday, September 9th , 2022 With a 13-5 win to wrap up the series at Carpenter Complex, the Daytona Tortugas have eliminated the Clearwater Threshers in the Round 1 and move on to the Championship. Daytona controlled the series from the outset and won it in a 3-0 sweep. Bryan Owen led the charge offensively for the victors, winning series MVP honors. He posted a .538 batting average, along with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 3 runs. "We're not done yet," the MVP said. "There is still a lot to accomplish." The Daytona Tortugas don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Charlotte Stone Crabs - St. Lucie Mets series.
