Blue Jays Advance to Championship Monday, September 9th , 2024 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Dunedin Blue Jays have edged the Lakeland Flying Tigers. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Round 1, with a 1-0 win in the clincher being the difference for Dunedin and giving them the ticket to the Championship with a 3-2 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Edward Gross, who was named series MVP. For the series, Gross hit .294 with a .294 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Dunedin Blue Jays will play against the Bradenton Marauders in the next round.
