Gómez Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, September 3rd , 2023 Sergio Gómez extended his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games today in the Lake County 2-0 triumph over the Lansing Lugnuts. The 25-year-old Captains first baseman collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. "Of course it's going to end," he said. "I'm just enjoying it until then." Sergio Gómez flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Mario Martínez in the 8th. Thus far this year Gómez has hit .279 with 19 home runs and 63 RBIs. |
