Wright Cruises to Shutout Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 Charles Wright of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers spun his magic on the Hagerstown Suns today. He blanked them 13-0 on 3 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and no walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Wright said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Kannapolis skipper Dave Valle said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Charles pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. This year Wright has made 18 starts, thrown 107.2 innings, fanned 84 batters and walked 27.
