Big Day with Bat: Paolini 6-for-6 Sunday, August 13th , 2023 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 6-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Stephen Paolini, it came around today. The 22-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over CMC-NorthEast Stadium to pace the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers to a 14-2 victory over the Hagerstown Suns. Hagerstown skipper Bobby Wilson told reporters in the press room that "Paolini deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Paolini hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Stephen Paolini hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Brian Conley in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Thus far in 2023 Paolini is hitting .246 with 7 home runs, 49 RBIs, 57 runs scored and has compiled a .330 OBP. View Boxscore |
