Columbia Sweeps into the Championship Sunday, September 10th , 2023 Kelly Bryant said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Columbia Fireflies encountered little resistance in sweeping the Augusta GreenJackets, to advance to the Championship. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Bryant. Columbia won the final game by a 6-2 count and were led in the series by Bryant, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .462 with 0 home runs. He also drove in 4 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Columbia Fireflies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Hickory Crawdads - Delmarva Shorebirds series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Championship schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
