5-for-6 Day for Garza Friday, July 21st , 2023 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Manuel Garza today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Joe O'Brien Field and paced the Twins to a 18-15 win over the Kingsport Mets. After his dynamite batting performance, the Elizabethton center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Manuel Garza hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. So far this season Garza is hitting .258 with no home runs, 6 RBIs and 2 runs scored. He has 8 hits in 31 at-bats and a .250 OBP. View Boxscore |
