Muir Goes 5-for-5 Against West Virginia
|
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Jimmy Muir of the Cincinnati (NYP) Reds had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 9-4 win over the West Virginia Black Bears at Russell Diethrick Park.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 19-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Jimmy Muir singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season Muir is hitting .500 with no home runs.
