White Sox Lose By a Run at Kansas City
|
Kansas City turned a fine outing from starter Enkei Wakamatsu into a victory over the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium. The final score was 1-0. Wakamatsu got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Inkei Wakamatsu earned his 40th save in 44 chances.
Matt Belgard drove in one run for Kansas City. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jay Rapini. It was his 80th RBI of the season.
"We took home the win," said Wakamatsu. "What's not to like?"
The Royals have an impressive 101-61 record.
