Burwell Belts 5 Hits
|
It was a hits blitz for Dave Burwell at Arm & Hammer Park.
The Arkansas Travelers left fielder tore into the Trenton Thunder for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Thunder swept past the Travelers, 4-3, to ruin Burwell's day.
"We weren't locating our pitches well," Arkansas manager Daniel Seres explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Dave was nice but it wasn't enough."
Dave Burwell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season, Burwell has 11 home runs and a .306 batting average.
