Giants 1B Rivera Suspended 2 Games Thursday, August 7th , 2053 Giants first baseman Jose Rivera will begin a 2-game suspension today for a confrontation with an umpire in a recent San Jose-Colorado (EL) clash. The league suspended him for "inappropriate and aggressive actions" toward an umpire. Rivera profusely argued a third strike call and was eventually ejected by the home plate umpire. So far this season, Rivera has 11 home runs and a .272 batting average. |
