Castro 5-for-6 for Lynchburg Friday, December 19th , 2053 Cruz Castro had an answer for everything the Lancaster JetHawks threw at him at Ed Smith Stadium. The Lynchburg second baseman went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Hillcats a win, 16-4. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Castro said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Cruz Castro doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, tripled in the 6th and singled in the 7th. For the season, Castro is currently batting .434 with no home runs and 7 RBIs. In 13 games he has reached base at a .531 rate and scored 12 runs to date. |
