Figueroa Shuts Out Suns
Saturday, August 9th , 2053
Dayton Dragons starter Carlos Figueroa really did a number on the Hagerstown Suns, shutting them out, 10-0, on 2 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 2 walks and had 5 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Hagerstown manager Ed Corona. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Figueroa."
Checking out his stats for the season, Figueroa has notched 4 wins and 2 losses in 9 starts. His ERA is 3.90 and he's struck out 44 batters in 60 innings.
