Alvarez Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, September 5th , 2053 Andrew Alvarez of the Lakewood BlueClaws outhit everybody on the field at First Energy Park, but it was all for naught. Even as Alvarez personally tore up the Great Lakes Loons with a 5-for-6 day, the Loons were sending his BlueClaws down to defeat, 18-14. Andrew Alvarez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Alfonso Ortega in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This season, Alvarez has hit at a .216 clip and produced 18 runs batted in, 3 home runs and 12 runs. |
