5-Hit Blitz by Tri-City's Hernandez Sunday, June 16th , 2052 It was high-fives all around for Rene Hernandez at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Connecticut Tigers. Hernandez smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 14-4 win. "Rene was hitting everything," said ValleyCats manager Collin Butkiewicz. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Tigers manager Andy Garcia told BNN beat writers that Hernandez "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Hernandez oversleeps next time." Rene Hernandez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Ray Fogle in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. Presently Hernandez is batting .372 with 32 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 19 runs and scored 16 times. |
