Carmichael Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games
Monday, June 24th , 2052
With 1 hit at MCU Park today, Warren Carmichael added another game to his hitting streak -- the Brooklyn first baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Cyclones today, as they fell, 8-1, to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," Salem-Keizer manager Patrick Scoggin said later. "I'll let him get 3 hits in 3 at-bats if it means we get a win." Warren Carmichael hit an RBI double in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th and struck out in the 6th.
Carmichael has a .312 average and a .371 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 78 hits, 5 home runs and driven in 32 runs.
