Lake Monsters Puccio Booms 3 HRs
Thursday, August 28th , 2053
Vermont Lake Monsters first baseman Brian Puccio had a magnificent game against the Aberdeen Ironbirds, rocketing three balls out of Ripken Stadium to help the Lake Monsters win, 6-1.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Puccio went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Vermont manager Brauly Mejia said later. "Seems like Brian found his home run stroke today."
Brian Puccio struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Hajato Takahashi in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ik-jun Jahng in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Nick Lisa in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
This season, Puccio has hit at a .237 clip and produced 77 runs batted in, 39 home runs and 80 runs.
