Cook Whacks 3 out of the Park for Pittsburgh (WIN) Sunday, January 1st , 2051 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Dave Cook can celebrate. The Pittsburgh (WIN) Pirates left fielder powered three into the stands at Pirate City Complex today against the Chicago (WIN) Cubs. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Cook told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-3 as the Pirates toppled Chicago (WIN) by a score of 4-0, knocking in 3 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Pittsburgh (WIN) manager Art Anderson said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Dave Cook hit a solo-shot off Orlando Mosqueda in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Bogdan Sdobnyakov in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jason Barber in the 7th. Currently Cook is hitting .225 and has collected 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 7 times, while playing in 26 games. |
