36-Game Hitting Streak for Konol Tuesday, June 10th , 2053 The Detroit Red Wings may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 14-10, to the Niagara Falls Phantoms, but Issac Konol continued to hit like a god. The first baseman collected 2 hits in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 36 games. "Konol is playing great and is on fire right now," Red Wings manager Lee Alonzo said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Konol was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Issac Konol grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. Konol is currently batting .513 with 5 home runs, 47 runs scored and 36 RBIs. His OBP is .575. |
