Comte Batters Texas (DSL) for 5 Hits
The Texas (DSL) Rangers 2 downed the Houston (DSL) Astros 12-11 today at Texas Rangers Complex, in spite of the best efforts of Houston (DSL) shortstop Jean-Claude Comte. Comte lashed the ball all over the park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with a 5-for-5 line -- and a loss.

"I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," he said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter."

Asked if he would adjust his strategy next time the Rangers 2 face Comte, Texas (DSL) manager said "absolutely not."

"Our strategy was to not give him good pitches to hit," he said. "We didn't do that, and he worked us over. Thankfully, we won anyway, and next time we'll pitch to him better."

Jean-Claude Comte hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Comte is batting at a .338 pace this season, picking up 23 hits in 68 at-bats with no home runs, 9 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
