Depending on your loyalties, the Round 1 was either a lot of fun or a lot of frustration.

There wasn't much of a fight put up, with the Midland RockHounds taking a drama-free, 3-0 sweep of the Corpus Christi Hooks.

"We're in good shape going into the Round 2," said Midland pitcher Ben Sears, after his team won the final game by a 3-1 count. "If we play like this going forward, we'll definitely win the Round 2."

Sears earned series MVP honors, with a 1.50 ERA over 6 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.

The Midland RockHounds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Tulsa Drillers - Northwest Arkansas Naturals series. That series is tied at 1 game each.
