Twins Handle Astros, 5-1
|
Minnesota Twins starter Rosmer Inojosa turned in an exceptional performance against the Houston Astros at Target Field, resulting in a Minnesota win, 5-1. The Astros, at 58-71, have lost 4 straight games.
The Astros had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Twins going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Jose Reni came to the plate. Reni hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 fastball from Houston hurler Julius Sanchez. It was Reni's 16th home run of the year.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Minnesota manager Nate Powalie. "It's usually not just one thing."
