Castro Excels in 5-1 Washington Win
|
Willi Castro impressed in the 5-1 Washington win over Philadelphia. Castro, who led the AL in triples with 9 in 2025, was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Spencer Howard earned the win to go to 6-9. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. Washington has now won 4 straight.
Danny Foggie was 1 for 3 with a walk for Washington. The 28-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tanner Houck. It was his 67th RBI of the season.
Foggie told a Washington Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
