Mets Handed 4-2 Loss by Baltimore
|
The Baltimore Orioles took New York pitcher Carson McKinney's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The final score had Baltimore getting past the Mets, 4-2. McKinney went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 2. Jesus Macias picked up the save, his 3rd. At 4-2, the Orioles have played well so far.
Baltimore took the lead, 4-2, on Rich Espinal's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off New York pitcher Will Bednar in the bottom of the eighth.
New York manager Dwight Gooden said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
