Maki Goes 5-for-5 Against Tampa Bay (DSL) Sunday, June 15th , 2031 A jubilant Jamie Maki joined the postgame press conference at Baseball City Complex today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Tampa Bay (DSL) Rays 2 pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Baltimore (DSL) Orioles 2 left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Orioles 2 to a 12-4 win. "He made it look easy," said , manager of the Rays 2. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Jamie Maki singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. So far this season Maki has hit .474 with no home runs, 3 RBIs and scored 5 times. |
