Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Cardinals, 6-5
St. Louis first baseman Jaime Toro was the key at Busch Stadium today, as he powered the Cardinals to victory in a critical Game 5 of the Wild Card Series. The Cardinals took the 6-5 win over the New York Mets to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The Cardinals took a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Facing New York hurler Sammy Whitfield with two outs, Toro hit a 2-run home run.

"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Toro. "Those qualities define our team."

Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at Citi Field in New York.
