Del Chiaro, Marlins Sink Rockies Again in Game 2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Jarred Del Chiaro, the Miami Marlins stopped the visiting Colorado Rockies, 6-3, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series today. Del Chiaro was 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Marlins, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Del Chiaro turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Miami first baseman dialed up a grand slam home run. Just like that, Miami's 3-1 deficit turned into a 5-3 lead.
"I'm proud to wear a Miami jersey," Del Chiaro told the Miami Times. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 1st , 2068 at Coors Field in Denver.
