Mariners Lose to Blue Jays in Walk Off
|
Behind the hitting of Derrek Hopper, the Toronto Blue Jays stopped the Seattle Mariners, 10-9. Hopper was 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice for the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays raised their record to 6-3.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the tenth, with Toronto trailing 9-6, Hopper hit a fastball from Jon Ma McLaughlin for a grand slam home run, giving the Blue Jays the walk-off win.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Hopper, "but we got it done."
