Astros Squelch Athletics Offense in Shutout Win
Houston took on Las Vegas in front of a lively crowd.

In a low-scoring affair between the Houston Astros and the Las Vegas Athletics, pitcher Matty Cole was the difference between victory and defeat. The Houston right-hander earned accolades in the 3-0 Astros win. Héctor Trujillo was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.

The Astros got a big hit from catcher Adam Meserve. In the bottom of the sixth, Meserve pounded a 2-run double to right-center. His 2nd double of the season put the Astros ahead, 3-0.

"We take it day by day here," said Cole, "and today was a good one for us."

The win moves Houston to a record of 13-15.
