Blue Jays Shut Out Orioles, Villarreal Winner
|
Bernardo Villarreal dominated the Baltimore Orioles with a brilliant 2-hit shutout in a Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 triumph at Rogers Centre. The Toronto hurler fanned 5 and walked 0 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager.
"He really kept us in check today," Orioles skipper Brian Beil said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings."
On the year Villarreal has compiled a 1-2 mark with a 3.97 ERA.
