Timberjacks Lose to Tigers in Walk Off
The Detroit Tigers beat the Portland Timberjacks, 6-2, at Comerica Park. The win was due in part to catcher Trethowan Romero, who was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Detroit reliever Víctor Martínez was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Lonnie Page. The second-place Tigers raised their record to 34-37.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Romero hit a fastball from Lonnie Page for a grand slam home run. The Tigers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"I really like what we did out there today," Romero said after the game.
