Orioles Curb Twins, 6-4
|
The first-place Baltimore Orioles picked up another win.
Behind the hitting of Ed Delahanty, the Baltimore Orioles stopped the Minnesota Twins, 6-4. Delahanty went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Orioles. The American League Eastern Division-leading Orioles are 61-44.
With Baltimore trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Delahanty hit a fastball from David Sánchez for a 3-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Orioles ahead, 6-4.
In postgame remarks, Orioles manager Brian Beil praised Delahanty. "Niagra Falls makes my job a whole lot easier."
