The Seattle Mariners turned back the Las Vegas Athletics, 6-5, at O.co Coliseum. Don Cross, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Seattle's record now stands at 53-75, placing them last in the American League Western Division.

Seattle used a clutch hit from Xavier Martínez to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
