Twins Best Angels in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels, pitcher Gabriel Herrera was the difference between victory and defeat. The Minnesota right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Twins win. Herrera went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 6-15. The last-place Twins go to 59-93.
Minnesota took a 2-0 lead on Loren García's 27th home run of the season. The solo home run, which García hit in the top of the eighth, left Los Angeles pitcher Pete Chaney shaking his head.
