Collins Helps Baltimore Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Pete Collins, who finished 5th in the NL in OPS with .890 in 2063, led the Baltimore Orioles to a win over the Cleveland Indians, 12-3. Baltimore pitcher Caden Norris got the win. He's now 14-8. Pablo Sánchez was tagged with the loss. With the win, Baltimore pushed its record to 88-65.
Collins contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Baltimore in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Collins took a changeup from Pablo Sánchez and stroked the home run to right-center. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Orioles to leap in front, 4-3.
"We came out aggressive," said Orioles manager Brian Beil. "We came out swinging the bats."
