Giants Suffer 6-4 Loss to Nationals
|
Washington starter Curt Hernández pitched well against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. In 6.2 innings, Hernández surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. Curt Davis was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.
Washington used a well-timed hit by Rafael Sandoval to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Hernández said in reaction to the win.
The win moves Washington to a record of 15-11.
