Porter Slugs Mets to 7-5 Win
|
The New York Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 7-5, at Citi Field. New York designated hitter Willie Porter had a superb performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. With the win, New York upped its record to 24-17.
Porter had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Enrique Cruz, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Mets a 7-5 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Porter.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Porter said.
