Ryan Sensational for Brewers
|
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at Citi Field, taking down the New York Mets, 1-0. Starting pitcher Shawn Ryan was a big reason why. The first-place Brewers, at 56-34, now lead their division by 4½ games.
Ryan, who dominated for Milwaukee, earned the victory to move to 7-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 3. New York batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Ryan said.
