Wolves Win Again, Streak Now at 10
|
Minnesota turned a good effort from starter Jayson Goodman into a win over the Illinois Jethawks at Jethawk Sportpark. The final score was 5-2. The winning pitcher was Goodman, now 18-6. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. The first-place Wolves have won 10 straight games.
With two out in the top of the fifth, Bill Hartman put Minnesota in front, 3-1, with a 2-run single. The Wolves went on to win the ballgame.
Goodman said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
