Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Utah Scorpions and the Minnesota Wolves. Utah won it, 2-0. Utah starter Brian Bacon was in command. The Scorpions saw their win-loss record go to 36-22. At the same time, the Wolves fell to 38-20.

Bacon earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Utah. The native of Irondequoit, New York, allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 9. Minnesota hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.

"Brian did a tremendous job," said Utah manager Brett Williams.
