Grays Need Extra Innings to Top Hounds, 2-1
|
The Virginia Grays got a magnificent performance from pitcher Brendon McCreight, who stifled the Tennessee offense en route to a 2-1 Grays win at Pinson Stadium. Daniel Rivera earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. Tennessee has now lost 4 straight.
Virginia used a clutch hit from Jim Brewer to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Grays ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments, Brewer said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
