FL Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named

Ângelo Barbuda was dominant and cool under pressure this year, and his standout performance has earned the Wausau Timbers reliever recognition as the 2098 Frontier League Reliever of the Year Award.

"I was just doing my job, and my job is to get people out," said the 31-year-old out of Anapolis, Brazil.

The award winner made 26 relief appearances this year and had 2 saves. He fanned 95 batters in 92 innings, with 19 walks. He pitched to a record of 2 wins and 4 losses to go with his 1.47 ERA.

He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 10. Marcos Martínez of the Peoria Blue Angels finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while José Prieto of the Rochester Huskies finished third.
