Dauri Lorenzo said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Round 1 until he was shown his own statistics.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos third baseman put up a .333 average with 1 home runs, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Blue Wahoos advancing to the Round 2, with a 4-1 series win over the Mississippi Braves.

"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."

The series victory had become official with a 1-0 triumph at Trustmark Park. Even if Lorenzo is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.

"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Rocket City Trash Pandas - Tennessee Smokies series. Rocket City leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
