Yankees Hammered by Merrifield, Drop Game 4 to Astros
The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees will take the Division Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Astros beat the Yankees 9-8 at Yankee Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Houston center fielder Whit Merrifield was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2.

It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Alex Bregman, the 2022 Most Valuable Player Award winner . Bregman contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Houston up, 7-6.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Houston manager .

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
