Royals Bridle Yankees, 2-1
|
Kansas City Royals starter C.J. Grummer was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the New York Yankees, 2-1. Jon Cohen was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The win gives Kansas City a record of 2-0.
Kansas City second baseman Joe Tinsley contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a sinker into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 2-1.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said New York manager Grabstir Smith, "let me know."
