Astros Edge Past Nationals, 6-5
|
Good production from center fielder Sergio Herrera helped the Houston Astros topple the Washington Nationals, 6-5. Herrera went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Astros. Reliever Cody Morris picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Bonk took the loss. Houston is now 2-2.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Houston trailing 5-3, Alex Bregman jumped on a 2-0 fastball from Josh Bonk for a 3-run home run, sending the Astros to a walk-off win.
Bregman said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
