Giants Pursche Gone for Year

The season is ending on a bad note for Lonnie Pursche, reliever for the San Francisco Giants. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Pursche was hurt against the Miami Marlins while throwing a pitch. He suffered bone chips in his elbow and will be out for at least 5 months.
This year Pursche has pitched 28.2 innings over 23 relief appearances, picking up no saves and held opponents to a .287 average. Pursche has a 4-1 record with a 4.08 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
