Thompson and Jeffers Traded Thursday, March 7th , 2024 The Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Chicago will part with 30-year old minor league LHP Aaron Bummer, 19-year old minor league LHP Xavier Wiseman, 18-year old minor league LHP Bill Alvarez, 19-year old minor league LHP Tony Crespin, and 23-year old minor league RHP Matthew Thompson, while the Twins have dealt 26-year old C Ryan Jeffers. "This one took a while to figure out," said Chicago general manager Dan Lagoni. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." In 325 career games Jeffers is hitting at a .251 pace with 270 hits with 55 doubles, 1 triple and 38 homers while scoring 123 runs and racking up 143 RBIs. He logged 134 walks and owns a .343 on-base percentage. |
