Pickett Batters Gwinnett for 5 Hits
Wednesday, May 8th , 2030
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Toledo's Jonathan Pickett made it happen today against the Stripers. Everything came together at the plate for the 24-year-old shortstop as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Mud Hens to a 8-1 win at Fifth Third Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Pickett said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Jonathan Pickett singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season Pickett is hitting .257 with no home runs.
